Deep Dive: Snow Bib + Snow Pants

I’ve been doing research on brands and styles, since my last video. There were a lot of great recommendations! I wanted to break this down into a few sections, to make this easier to sort through. This is just my personal opinion of what did/didn’t work for me. It doesn't mean the brand or quality is bad, it just means it didn’t fit my body well.

I included items that I currently own, and love, and I realize that they’re all on the more expensive side. This is my personal preference, but I would rather save up and invest in higher quality vs. buying something that’s more inexpensive but wears out (and then you’re replacing it more quickly/multiple times). But, if that doesn’t align with how you like to purchase, or with your budget, that’s 100% okay. There is no right or wrong answer - but I didn’t want anyone to have sticker shock without explaining my thought process.

As always, let me know if you have any other recommendations, suggestions, or questions!

Note: there are affiliate links (where I make a small commission at no extra cost to you) in this post. I truly appreciate you using them, if you’re going to make a purchase! It helps me continue to provide free content + resources to you, that take me hours to create, so thank you!

Bibs + Jackets I Own:

Size Medium / $428

I have a size medium in these bibs, but I'm curious if I could've sized down to a small, because they feel a little baggy, and I have plenty of movement when I'm skiing in them. I love that the waist is cinched and the quilted pattern. I feel like these are more true to size and size inclusive than some strictly ski wear brands.

Size Small / $428

I got this to match, and thankfully got them both on sale last year, because they’re not cheap. But the quality is great, they’re warm, and I love how cute they are, too! I feel like this jacket is more true to size and size inclusive than some strictly ski wear brands.

Size Small / $178

I have these in the army green in a size small. They’re a little snug fitting them over my hips (because there isn’t much stretch in the waist), but I love them for camping or apres. The medium was too baggy for my preference.

*I found an Amazon dupe, linked in my storefront (right image).

Size Medium / $198

I own this, in a medium (the small fit too, but I liked it more oversized) in the Twin Peaks color. It matches everything, doesn't show dirt, and is great for a warm day on the slopes or for camping!

Size Medium / $198

I liked the pullover so much I bought the jacket to match my Free People ski set and as a treat to myself for hitting a goal this year. I got it in a size medium, too. Anyone want to buy it for me in the hot pink? Ha.

Size Large / $345

I have to admit these don't fit perfectly, but I bought them on Poshmark (a steal of a price, so I couldn’t resist, and they were brand new) to match my Halfdays Lawrence Jacket, but I'll have to get them altered at the waist. Even though the waist has the snaps, it doesn't cinch in enough for me, and it's still too large.

Size Medium / $375

I got this last year and it’s been one of my favorite jackets! The quality is amazing and I love the pink color!

Size Medium / $209

I just ordered these, in a size medium, and am hopeful they fit since they’re stretchy. I also love that the waist has the velcro to cinch it in. I don't love how it looks on the lighter colors and prefer it blending in more, so I ordered the black. Plus the black matches everything!

Size Medium / $54

I ordered these last year and overall they’re good! They aren’t the most flattering though and look pretty baggy. I got a size medium and they fit well, even with a baselayer. The large was too big.

Brands + Styles I Would Love to Try:

Size Medium / $548

I love how this looks! I would get a size medium, or maybe a small, in it.

Size Small / $398

If you want the jacket, without the cinched waist, this one is for you! It only comes in white though. I would get a size small, or maybe a medium, in it.

$269

These are high waisted and stretchy! The one review on the REI website says that they're stretchy and great for thick thighs!

$349

These look like they would be a good option since they're stretchy and a soft shell. The reviews are good for curvy girls!

$209

These look like they could be promising, especially since they're high waisted.

$285

I haven't tried these on, but my friend has them, and they look amazing on her. I would be a size large in them and the waist would likely be too big. I feel like the thighs typically run small in Halfdays, so I'm doubtful that a medium would fit.

$219

I had a couple folks recommend these and they look like they would fit well since the waist is adjustable. I wish I could see what the back looks like though (not shown on the website).

Brands + Styles That Didn't Work for Me:

Size Large / $430

I tried on a size large in these and they were sadly still too large in the waist. I would have to get these altered. But the quality was great!

Size Large / $430

I tried on a size large in these and they were sadly still too large in the waist. I would have to get these altered. But the quality was great!

Size Large / $475

These (size large) actually fit better, but they sit under your boobs, so they're basically a high waisted pant with suspenders. I prefer bibs that sit higher.

Size Medium / $265

I tried on a pair of Flylow Snow Pants (size medium) that fit, but I can't remember the style, unfortunately. I didn't end up buying them. It's frustrating that sizing isn't consistent across brands, which makes it hard for consumers to know what size they need to purchase.

Size Large / $250

These were too big in the waist and they also had some less than stellar reviews about the seams ripping. Due to that, I would only buy from REI, or another retailer, with a great return policy.

Size 10 or 12 / $299

I needed a size 10 or 12 for them to fit in the legs and hips. They were too big in the waist, too. But they were super warm and the quality was great.

Size Medium or Large / $199

These did not fit me well and I forget what size I tried on.

Other Recommendations That I’m Not Going to Try:

Overall theme: these look like they’ll be too baggy in the waist for me, based on how they look on the model. I’m also realizing I’m not a fan of belt loops on the bibs.

$499

$259

$275

$595

$499

These look a little bunchy in the back, even with the velcro, and I’m not sure would be the most flattering. This brand is really high quality though!

I've heard good things about 2minus1 but personally won't be trying them. They don't accept returns, only exchanges “due to being a small company”, but when I googled their revenue (because I'm nosy), it was over $10M. So I'm a bit confused there, but maybe the info online is incorrect. It looks like the back could be pretty bunched up and fabric heavy. Their sizing is weird on their size chart (measuring across the bibs vs. circumference and you have to convert it from centimeters to inches) so I don't think it's the most consumer friendly purchase/brand, unfortunately, and I think customer service is critical (especially if I’m recommending something to you). If they offered refunds, I would be more comfortable trying them.

Amazon (Budget Friendly) Options:

Size Medium or Large / $69

These actually look pretty good! I may order them, in a size medium and large, to try them on and give my thoughts.

Size Small or Medium . $56

I own this pair in a size small, but the hips and thighs don’t have a lot of room. The medium was a more comfortable fit, but the waist was too big on me.

$78

These look like they might fit pretty well. A friend has these and likes them!

$68

$30-$65

I would get a size medium in these. The price ranges based on color and size.

There are multiple links, below, because unfortunately not all platforms carry all brands:
